Getting Started

Before we begin, here's what you will need to start racing:

  1. A registered account on Simraceway.com.
  2. A PC computer.  For minimum systems specifications see here.
  3. A copy of the rFactor racing simulator which can be purchased and downloaded from www.rFactor.net,.a trial is also available.
  4. The Simraceway client which can be downloaded at the Simraceway Game Client download page.

    * If you are using windows XP or Vista, you will need the Microsoft 3.5 .Net Framework package installed. This is available from Microsoft here.
    * If you are using a 64-bit Windows installation, you may need the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 (x64) Redistributable Package, This is available from Microsoft here.

  5. An Internet Connection: Must have a 1Mb (128K/s down - 32K/s up) connection or greater (test your connection with speedtest). Your ping is just as important as your bandwidth. The lower your ping, the more stable you connection will be to our servers resulting in the best racing experience.

  • Prior to Race Entry:

If you are running rFactor for the first time, be sure to run the 'rF Config.exe' program and verify your settings are correct. Some mods will not run correctly if the 'Shader Level' is not adjusted to DX8 or higher.

  • Entering a Race:

Now you are ready to race. When arriving at Race HQ, you will see a list a servers. Below is an overview of the servers you will see at Race HQ:

Each server has a green 'click to join' button which can be pressed to join that event. Pressing the 'Click to Join' button will reveal 3 servers: USA, UK and AU. Select the server you want to join. Keep in mind your ping will be lower if you a pick a server in your region.

Once you click on the desired server, the client will automatically start. It will begin by scanning your rFactor's mods to determine if you need the car and track for the server you are about to join. Keep in mind the first scan can take a few minutes, so please be patient.

Once the client has finished downloading the files, it will extract them into rFactor and launch the game.
