'Joined Timed Out' message joining servers

When joining a Simraceway server, you receive one or both of the following messages:

rFactor Join Timed OutConnection Lost

This could be due to one of four reasons:

  1. Connecting to a too distant server - We run 3 global servers for almost all events, be sure to select the server nearest you to ensure you have the best latency/ping and overall connection quality to our race servers.
  2. Firewall configuration - Configure your firewall to allow 'rfactor.exe' access to the internet for both incoming and outgoing connections.
  3. Poorly configured router - Check your router configuration, reset to factory default and re-apply settings if required. If possible bypass the router to test weather or not the issue is present without the router in the network.
  4. 'fullproc' command - For some users although mostly AMD CPU users, disabling the 'fullproc' command option in the rFactor game configuration window of the client can resolve this issue, see the screen shots below:
Open the Simraceway game client, click on Game Configuration:
    Game Configuration

    Click on ISI rFactor:
    Select Game

De-select the Start game with "+fullproc" command, click save settings:
    Save Settings
